About
My name is Mairead, a 28-year-old Irish designer who has journeyed from the lush landscapes of Ireland to the vibrant city of Vancouver. With an honours degree in Interior Architecture, earned in 2020, I began my career working with architectural firms in Ireland before moving to Canada, where I’ve contributed to two distinguished design studios on a wide range of projects—from multi-family residential to commercial interiors.
Over the past two years, I’ve also pursued freelance work as an interior designer, collaborating independently with clients on residential and commercial spaces. This experience has sharpened my ability to manage projects from concept through completion, deepening my understanding of client relationships, creative direction, and the practicalities of design delivery.
As a designer, I’m driven by a curiosity for global design thinking and a dedication to continually refining my creative skills. Travel has always been a big source of inspiration for me. I’m especially drawn to Latin American interiors their bold use of colour, texture, and pattern brings such a vibrant energy to spaces. There’s a warmth and creativity in the way materials are layered and details are expressed, and that’s really influenced how I approach my own designs.
