Woodstock house is part of an arboretum and gardens located in the picturesque village of Inistioge, Co. Kilkenny. This Victorian house was built in 1745 by architect Francis Bindon for Sir Willian Fownes. The main block, three-story over raised basement structure, comprised of a north-facing seven- bay façade, while that on the south side comprised of five bays. Flanking wings were added in the 19 Century by architect Willian Robertson for the Tighe family and are single-story over raised basement. The house was occupied by the black and tans during 1920-21 and burned down by the republicans in July 1922.
