RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT
CCH are the appointed architects for a new residential development on a greenfield site adjoining the old Baldoyle Racecourse in north Dublin, comprising some 1,020 apartments, with a mix of studios, one, two and three-bed apartments with a Crèche.
The design incorporates 5 clusters varying in height between four and nine stories, with semi-private enclosed landscaped courtyards designed to encourage an integrated community and an adjacent ample public open space connecting surrounding residential developments.
A contemporary pallet of materials where proposed, with two complimentary tones of brick and render, which is then contrasted with a zinc cladding finish to the roofline. A sedum green roof has also been selected for each cluster. Green roofs have increased in popularity over the years in the design industry as they improve air quality and encourage biodiversity.
The development includes walking/cycling/vehicular direct connections to the Dart line at Clongriffen Train Station. The neighbourhood centres, Howth and Portmarnock, are in close proximity to the Baldoyle residential development, which has an abundance of amenities such as schools, retail and hospitality. The scheme faces onto and has direct access to the 40-hectare Baldoyle Racecourse Park.
